hopeless and hapless
unbroken daughter
of course I am the fool
you always say i am

When will you love me
you’re all that I’ve longed for
the love of a father
is life-breath to me

I’ve wandered and laboured
been beaten and boughten
still nothing I’ve catered
to you has meaning

when will you love me
O father,  you’re sleeping
when will you wake up
and finally find me
