See This Through

Pierced without a faithless cry
Suspended towards the sky
Where all can stand and see
To watch you bleed
Suffocation is thievery
Swiping what you have left to breathe

Beaten, tried, condemned
All just to save them

Even though they don’t know what they do
You will see this through

Denial before your trial
Disownment, betrayal
Like stabbing with a knife
Hardly caring how you feel
You let your flesh be ripped apart
So we could have a new start

You never had to lay your life on the line
You could’ve just left us all here to die

This one is quite straight forward, at least I hope it is. It is basically describing Jesus, His crucifixion, and the horrible torture He endured, all just to save us from our filthy lives. It's very saddening how this act of ultimate grace has gone unnoticed and unappreciated. As it says in the bridge, He never had to die for us. He as God could have just chose to not die on the cross and abandon us, yet He chose to die anyway because He knew it was what He was supposed to do and He was going to see it through no matter what.
