So Far Left To Go

Easily flattered
You let it all flow in
Becoming host to false love
It will be shattered
Once you have fallen in
You’ll cry for help from above

There’s a cost for all wrongs
Yours will come, won’t be long

You have so far left to go
Why spend it all now?
Give away what you hold close
It will tear you down

Doesn’t it burn?
The feeling, the knowledge
That you gave it all away
I know it hurts
The searing, the torment
Merely the price to be paid

But if you don’t wish to learn
I guess that’s up to you
I’ll leave it to you to discern
Just what is false and true

I don’t want to see you go down this path
I reached for your hand but you turned your back

There's a lot of different meanings in this one. The one I'd like to focus on mainly with this is the weakness of our human hearts. Even love can be expressed in a wrong and sinful way, and thus there is a cost for giving into that sin. We have so much goodness and potential within us, but many of us tend to spend it all in the wrong place or on the wrong person before we can discover the true potential.
