I remember laying by your side
Calm, quite, still.
I’d lay and listen to you breathe
I would close my eyes
And smile as my mind and heart raced
With the thought of love
Love.
I don’t quite like it.
You gave me so much at one point
But as you leave to carry on the path of life
You took your love with you
To find another.
As I do the same I can’t seem to help myself.
I see your face in my dreams.
I feel the warmth of your touch.
I hear the sound of your voice.
Thousands of memories storm back.
Tears role down my cheeks,
My brain plays cruel tricks on my heart,
