My Sonnet

TO:My Husband

Crystal blue eyes I can’t help, but to stare.
Such power they hold I feel paralyzed.
No one’s eyes could ever compare,
Jealousy in all is inside their eyes.
A smile so flawless and radiant,
Lips that taste like honey I lust to kiss.
Comforting he is I can’t be distant,
If so I was dearly him I would miss.
When I think about him my heart beats fast.
Be still my heart and else beat more gently.
Time shouldn’t exist as it comes to past,
Our moments together are notably.
No one else’s side I would rather stand,
Except for by his side holding his hand.

I written this poem the first few months that my husband and I were dating. It originally was a classroom assignment in history for MacBeth. I was excited when we got the assignment because I knew that I wanted to write a beautiful love inspiring poem for all my fellow classmates to hear. Heck, none of them even known that I loved to write poetry. It was a great pleasure to share this poem aloud to other people and to my husband. It brought me great joy and delight. I hope that it does the same to you!
