A pretty pink dress
with blue ribbon
a layer of lip gloss
her freckles, hidden
hidden by a small blotch of blush
her caramelized eyes twinkle..
put a heart in her hair
on her face appears not a wrinkle
Bewitched were her parents
how dare they...
question what she loves
they’ll know one day
Insecure she was
nail polish and all
wanted to be like other girls
but was always too tall
Mama says, “You’re a boy honey.”
But how? She liked dolls and gum
all the pearly dress up games
looked so fun
All she wanted was
a prince charming like Princess Belle
Papa said “Join a sport, it’s better”.
and if he was wrong, he could never tell
