The Power of the Mind
In the deciding moments in the most crucial of times,
On the steepest of mountains on the hardest of climbs,
In the most crucial of times on the biggest of stages,
When it feels impossible to remain courageous,
When the going gets tough and the end seems so distant,
Sometimes success looks to be nonexistent,
But recall all the tears of suffering and pain,
All the work put in, through the snow and the rain,
All the times you resisted temptation and sin,
Remembered to never let doubt get under your skin,
All the hours of work, you spent chasing your dreams,
The fight against sanity, head on into streams,
A fight that is fought not to far from home,
A fight fought inside the richest dome,
But not in a dome in which people applaud,
But a dome, which made through God, is unflawed,
The dome which protects the most precious of treasure,
A treasure of whom’s value is unmeasured,
The treasure is a key to all circumstances too tough,
When it seems that pure strength just isn’t enough,
The treasure that no matter the challenge you face,
Will take you past the rest of the human race,
This treasure in which only you have the map,
A map that is not torn and shows not a gap,
This treasure I speak of is the mind, don’t you see?
The map is the will and the desire to succeed,
What is needed is only cooperation and belief,
And once you reach the finish you’ll let out a sigh of relief,
For believing in yourself is worth so much more,
Than every drop of sweat that falls from its pore,
But the belief in yourself and the desire to succeed,
Is enough to beat any talented man filled with greed,
And the best part of all, of this treasure you have found,
Is that you won’t see it on the wall or read it from the ground,
So take advantage of your knowledge of your treasure unknown,
And don’t brag about it but in results let it be shown,
That belief in yourself and that strength in your mind,
Is something that inside all true champions you will find.
