Biggest Suitcase

Hello, Hello Operator
I am leaving town,
My mother’s face wears a frown.

Operator, do you hear me?
I’ll take the biggest suitcase up for sale,
Put my small soul in there,
my toothbrush and I must bail.

I’ve overstayed my welcome,
used up all the resources,
I’ve taken all I can,
They might call up the forces.

I’m left with no words to say,
Goodbye is the only way.

On the road again,
to find a new abode,
and maybe on the way,
I will learn how to cope.

It is a bitter ending,
which marks a new beginning,
and while I bleed with pain,
my love for her is thinning.

There’s one thing I see clearly,
Acceptance is the key.
For too much expectation,
You are bound to pay a fee.
