Greatest Mystery

The first time I saw you, you looked like him.
But as I got to know you in those hours,
I realized you were the complete opposite.
You’re headstrong and brave and confident.
As those hours came to a close, you asked:
“Already?”
You pulled me in and kissed my forehead as a goodbye.
Your hair soaked by the rain but you still stood there smiling, despite the storm on us.
I don’t know your name, but that is the greatest mystery.
Because I’ll remember you as the guy without the name who gave me a day of memories I will never forget and emotions I’ve never felt.
If we’re meant to be, maybe I’ll see you again.
