Kneel with Strength...

I heard your laughter.
The laughter of a deceptive dramatic evil.
I heard your smirks as though your intentions
were hidden within and the mask that showed
was waiting to grab hold my soul.

I heard the scratches, the punches and the stabs.
I fell to my knees in disbelief but, it has taught me
how to find strength with in me.

I cringed and prayed for another day as you
inflicted each blow. It was a spur of the moment
decision, to beat me until the air left my lungs.
And with each strike so blunt, I held on.

I held on to the reason, the love barely flickering
inside of me, waiting for the suffocation to pass,
so that it’s flame would ignite again.
I held on to one thing, you don’t know me.
You really have no clue. But, I know you.

Who you are, what you’ve become, the demons
that you have released. And, while down on my knees
blocking your angry streaks, I pray for you.
Asking God to save you, and then you fall
expecting me to catch the wind before it blows through
you but, I continue to pray so the light has a path to shine
through.

You will seek help, and never again will another woman fall
to your demons or their abuse.
