But

“I miss you, Amy
I truly do,
but I won’t speak right now,
because I’m mad at you.”

You’re the one who said
to leave the “buts” behind,
They only bring out,
the things you meant to hide

'You’re worthless, Amy
You’re not worth fighting for’
He’s just going to leave you
Like they’ve done before.

Just let him walk over you,
because just maybe then,
Maybe then he’ll love you,
And you’ll feel special again.

There must be something wrong with you,
for so many to run away,
they say that they love you,
But only when things are okay.

'You’re great when you’re at your best,
I love you when it’s fun,
But when you show your differences,
that’s when I’ll turn and run.'

So just sit there and wait, Amy,
for him to love you for you.
Like it’ll ever happen, Amy,
Don’t be such a fool.

You could wait for years,
but all you do is destroy,
because you’re not ready to love,
because you refuse to be their toy.

So cry yourself a river,
Lay there in your pity,
Because no one cares to save you,
from your current misery.

'You’re just not worth it, Amy,
I thought you’d be better at this,
but instead, you’ve failed again,
and you’re not much to miss.'

Typical.
Make me learn to need you,
teach me to depend,
and then desert me like the rest of them,
leave me with no friend.

This is why I built a wall,
this is why I don’t let anyone near,
Because the second I let me guard down,
They run away in fear.

So forget it,
Give up on the thought,
that someone could actually love you,
after your heart’s been caught.

(2014)

This was written in a moment of frustration as a means of venting.
