Flaw

The world will always whisper,
“No matter what you do,
Your failures can’t be counted,
And no one needs you.

Your inadequacy is immeasurable,
you will always have your flaws,
in the eyes of man, you’re foolish,
So keep up that nice facade.”

The world will tell you,
“Your worth is measured by my standards,
Who you are is not good enough,”
And all you’ll feel is their anger.

“No matter what you try to do right,
You will always do something wrong,”
because the sin of man is rampant,
and this is not where you belong.

“So keep your thoughts in,
Don’t let them see your pain,
Because if you aren’t perfection,
They’ll leave you stranded in the rain.

Your pain isn’t worth it,
Because their hearts matter more,
Don’t let yourself feel healing,
Because that’s not what they need you for.”

But listen to me, child,
You are who I made you to be,
My perfect work of art,
And your worth is immeasurable to Me.

I see Christ in you,
My beloved little girl,
So don’t listen to their lies,
Because this is not your world.

I created you for perfection,
To use your gifts for Me,
If they can’t see your worth,
Let Me remind you of your beauty.

I made you, my daughter,
Instilled in you My light,
So when the world tries to dull you,
Let that light shine bright.

Because I love you, my dear,
Christ in you is worth my love,
Rather than the lies you let yourself believe,
Believe in Me, your Father above.
