Have No Fear

As Your David said to You,
let me fly from this place,
so I can finally have rest,
see my God face to face.

My heart is at anguish within me,
Let me run into the wilderness,
To take refuge in your shelter,
from this raging storm and tempest.

It is not my enemy who taunts me,
Oh, how I wish it could be–
Then I could bear it, I could hide,
But the enemy is within me.

My thoughts tear their way,
through my knowing that You’re here,
And horror overwhelms me,
Though you tell me, “Have No Fear.”

I’m screaming out from the belly of the fish,
Calling to you from the lion’s den,
Begging You from the ashes,
Save me, my Friend.

But I will call to You, my Abba,
My Father, oh Most High,
Because I know you will rescue me,
You will sustain me, Adonai.

My bleeding feet are running to You,
My scarred hands are reaching for You,
My Lord, I will always call on You,
You will always be my rescue.
