Lost you

I watch you fake a smile,
I watch your cry of pain,
I try to reach out to you,
But my effort is in vain.

You do not seek my comfort,
You even do not seek me,
You just want their friendship,
You want popularity.

Do you find joy in complaining,
To then just shut me out?
To make me feel like nothing,
Fill me with self doubt?

You’re slamming the door hard,
Not caring who you break,
Forgetting us who love you,
For something that is fake.

How could you be so ignorant,
To go out of your way,
To please those who could leave you,
When we’re right here to stay?

We miss the old you,
The one who didn’t care,
About what other people thought of him,
His clothes or stupid hair.

Everyone is leaving you,
We’re still on your side,
You’re trying to push us out,
Trying to say goodbye.

I pray to God you’ll realize,
Our friendship is quickly fading,
We might have to give up,
If you just keep us waiting.
