October 2013

When you leave
Come find me.
My soul will be here
Watching the stars collide
Dismembered and thrown a strew
You’ll find my body
In the shallows.

This deafening silence
Smothering me in its blanket
You’ll find my body mangled
Twisted in the sheets.
These malicious nightmares
Haunting like vivid horrors
And these lost dreams
Hazy memories mocking me.

I will go now, quietly
So my bones can find a place
To lie down and rest.
In the darkness
I will meet my creators.
When you find me in the morning,
Will you wrap up my bones,
And take them out of this place.
To rest beneath the evergreens,
Where the flowered aromas
Can mend my tethered soul.
