AFTER MIDNIGHT
The house is quiet
All are fast asleep
My time for writing
Brain engulfs me
I hear the noise
The usual sounds
Which can be found
In any urban surround
But at midnight
Things are more gritty
Peoples vices
Are more plenty
Police chases
Ambulance on the scene
Gun shots
People scream
Dogs barking
Ya' better beware
Go outside
If you dare!
