I am the dark angel that walks amongst you
Cast down from heaven, I’m faithless
My once white wings, now charred black and hollow
My crimson tears fall, it’s all hopeless
I know who you are, you’re searching for me
Your soul told me, it needs me
I know you cannot set yourself apart from me
Your shadow told me, it wants me.
I walk by you to make you shudder, to put fear in your heart when I am near
Light as you know it, will no longer be, darkness is what sets you free
I hiss your sinister secrets, to tempt you oh so wickedly
Don’t you see? I am the opposite of what you strive to be
I visit you in your dreams to hear you plead with me
Your once clear tears drip crimson down your cheeks
I hear you screaming, “God, please forgive me!”
Your halo gone, your feathers charred black and hollow
You tremble as I as I pull you near, a slight whisper in your ear
“Isn’t this darkness amazingly clear?”
