Decision

Scream, bicker, fight
Pay no attention
To the feelings
Of one another
Or those outside the anger.

Get worked up and angry
About the little things.
Disregarding
Everyone around you
No one makes it out okay

Tell your kids to pick a side
But really they don’t want to
They see it
The pain it causes
To the both of you

They look and see
Their mother crying
Heart-broken
But still they keep quiet.
Not a word from their mouths

Though he doesn’t show it
They can see it in his eyes
Pain. Sadness.
No tears on his face,
But daddy’s crying too.

A child can’t simply choose
Between his mom and dad.
Forced cruelly
To decide which is right
Completely against his will.

You both don’t want to end it
But neither will put up the fight to keep
Your decision waits
Though they don’t want you to do it
If you do, then do it soon.
