It Doesn't Matter

Look at what you’ve made of yourself
A contradicting sort of father
You tell her that you’ll always be there
But backed out when she needed you most.
Does it even matter to you?

You say her sexuality isn’t a problem
But continue to degrade those like her
Calling her best friend “the little fag”
You can’t see the knife you’ve put in her side
Would it matter if you could?

She’s a kid; she makes mistakes.
She knows that well, but even so
When she does, you call her worthless
Making her feel unwanted, less human.
Does it matter to you?

You beat her down constantly
Leaving her scarred and insecure.
She hates herself because of the things you say.
But deep down, she’s been brought to believe
That it doesn’t matter to you at all.
