Remember Me

Remember Me

I hope when I’m gone you remember my words; how I used words to paint colourful pictures
Something hardly taught by any of our own teachers

I hope when I’m gone you remember me for being strong; I never shed a tear
Remember how I was courageous; I always conquered fear
Remember how in school I misunderstood a sphere
But my mind is forever sharp like Shaka Zulu’s  spear

I hope when I’m gone you remember how I lived a life so different, how my eye was fixed on a prize so vivid, how I broke limits and how I had the desire to achieve in my spirit

I hope when I’m gone you remember me
I trust you’ll look at my pictures and say that he was legendary
That I achieved my dreams and reached my destiny
Remember my identity and how I came alive in my artistry
And just like a wise man said to me
It’s about what you leave behind
So that’s the reason we live to leave a legacy
salute.
