To step away
I’ll step away for now
Only because I don’t want salt water stains hitting the poems about you and the words running down the pages like a girls mascara when she looks at you with that fake smile and says, “I’m ok”
So I’ll take a few steps back
So I don’t end up getting sad and yelling and screaming and coming up with some many words that would perfectly describe you but my mom would wash out of my mouth with soap
So I’ll turn my back
Because I’m ok and I’m telling myself I’m ok meaning I must be ok....but..I’m not ok
So I’ll come back to it later
maybe when I finish it I can share it with others and they will look at it like I do, a piece of art
