I stepped on broken glass
left a bad taste in your mouth-
bottle cap, cold bath,
like ash and wine-wheedled truths.
Now you’re calling me
“the iron queen of every rusting thing.
Go get tetanus and
spare me one of those citronella smiles
you spend like quarters in a slot machine.”
