You were selling fireworks but
I bought snake oil and saw dust
didn’t get swindled I
just burnt out on broke promises and lies
gonna learn you about gunpowder
about porch swings
all my tricks for setting fires

I knew you were gonna be those green skies
when you bit my lip-broke the glass
it tasted just like monsoon,
like evening, thirteen
years later, I still got that asphalt gash
you’re every flash flood I’ll ever cry, ever swim, never drown
you keep stacking those sand bags like
you’re the only man who know how

I love the allegories, the poem is full of passion that emerges from the insides. Thank you
