Cancer Patient’s Prayer to Their Loved Ones
{For Andrew and Lisa}
I didn’t choose to shave my hair,
I lost it.
I didn’t choose to be so weak that I couldn’t play,
I literally couldn’t move.
I didn’t choose to feel so depressed and negative,
it comes with my condition.
I didn’t choose to give up so that you would feel that I was leaving,
I just didn’t know how to go on.
But I did see each of your smiles,
I heard each prayer in my name
and felt your hope and sadness,
your faith and love in my heart.
I may not have chosen to have you in my life,
I may not have thought that I needed you...
He knew long before I did
and so He placed you into my life.
So though I may have no hair,
feel weak most of the time and in the other times, exhausted.
I have you in my life
And I thank God each day.
