Radiance

Burning embers

I’m simply sweet; serene,
I’ll have your heart in my palms one moment,
And the next appear as a dream,

I cannot travel, my dearest love,
I rest as embers burning temperate,
Hot, burning white as a dove,

I glisten, sheen with sweat,
Pearly circles of colour retire restlessly,
In the midst of sunset,

Azure, crystalline, grazing with beauty,
Strikingly patient, I await,
Mystified by colours you will perish to see,

Am I what you’ve been waiting for?
The gift you’re somehow seeking,
Locked only behind a door?

I’m not That simple, you see
For years my walls were built, around this door,
It will be near impossible to get to me,

These brazen flames that have irked my grounds,
Have hardened my structure,
None can breach but sound,

Sand and slippers, the perfect mix,
Are you lost in my rhythm,
Complex worded tricks,

I can see you from within,
I’ve eyed you from four corners,
Yet you still stand so thin,

Have I yet captured your attention?
Or do I need to continue?
I’ll just stop to shortly mention,
This is for you.

(2013)

I have not written in a while. It is late and I am feeling emotional. Please give me all of your opinions. Thank you.
