You are a Rock

Be Stron

You are a rock,
Maybe you never understood this but I hope that now you know,
The meaning behind every move not need be understood
But felt
Feelings are so submissive
And you are not one to concave
Do you think that feelings mean weakness
Because to me, they are strength
Ever pound of pressure you feel is a sign that you are growing
Maybe in an emotional sense or maybe physical
But I see you becoming compound
To the point where you can compress yourself
And eventually master the art of feeling
To the point where the art of being becomes so close to nature
That you become it
You will understand that to be a rock is to not be strong
But to be weak
For a rock does not contain the strength it needs to survive
it just is
There is no heartbeat
nor will to survive
But just be
Allow yourself to flow,
You will be bountiful
And you will also be weak
You will fall and you will crack and you will break and you will understand what it is truly like to be alone
But you will learn to be without holding on to any extension but yourself
With every fall you will grow
With every crack
You will meld and learn to adapt
And with every break you will watch a part of you fall away in order for another to grow stronger
You will learn that the light doesn’t only shine from above
That there is darkness in the best places of the world
That even breaks can heal
And being alone can bring more joy than surrounded by people
You will learn the life of solitude
And you will lose the comfort of security but you will see so much clearer and you will understand that
You are a rock
And although you never understood or will understand what that means
You just are
And are content to be so.

This started out as an inside conversation with a very good friend of mine, both of us harbour immense amounts of anxiety, and so we created the "rock" expression. If at any moment, we were out and one of had anxiety, we would make a fist and place it over out hearts, tapping twice. It was our way of saying we needed comfort...
