The Rose and You

Feelings of being empty
Not wanting to open my eyes and see.
I wanted you to carry me to the light.
All you did was leave, never fight.
You never came like you promised.
You were a user let’s be honest.
The rose you carry will now die.
You didn’t care for it, you didn’t try.
The sun didn’t reach out to the rose.
The rose died, that’s how the story goes.
Deprived like a mother never loving her child.
The rose grows inside, becomes wild.
You took it, cut it down, left it to wilt.
You killed it by all the lies you have built.
When you have another rose, take it and paint it gold.
But remember, oh remember, the rose of old.
