Fairy Tale

He’s drop-dead, gorgeous, golden and charming.
His dimpled smiles are truly disarming.
Look away from him, I don’t think I can.
Seems I’ll forever be entranced with him.

But he was born with charm, not loyalty;
Who am I to claim that he’s the one for me?
Yes, he looks at me with such loving eyes,
But he looks at other girls the same, that’s not so nice.

So, Papa, please take me back to our kingdom.
Take me far, far away from this cruel man.
I think he’ll just hurt me, throw my heart away.
Oh, God, I’m in love with a fairy tale.

Lock me back up in the tower, that’s perfectly fine,
Better than crying for a man who isn’t mine.
Put a dragon outside, keep my heart safe,
‘Cause, damn, I’m in love with a fairy tale.

Wait. Should I ask for a kiss, one for the ride?
Maybe not, lest, I may never leave his side.
Oh, why did I have to fall for a prince charming
Who charms anyone in skirts and all that’s breathing?

I bet he doesn’t even remember my name,
Even though I’m my dad’s princess, huh, what a shame.
I’m tired of his shit, I’m running away.
My heart deserves better than his false little tales.

Oh, Papa, just take me back to our little kingdom.
Take me far, far away from this cruel man.
He’d been making me cry since once upon a time.
Oh, God, I’m in love with a fairy tale guy.

Lock me back up in the tower, I swear, I’ll be fine;
I’d take that over this prince who can’t truly be mine.
Put hundreds of knights at my door, keep my heart safe,
‘Cause, damn, I’m in love with a fairy tale.
