The Innocent (The Murder and Accusation)

A Sons Great Sin

(to be read like "the house that jack built"...cynicism in words against sweet memories of that childrens poem ) the lack of question marks is on purpose.

Was it there within those rolling hills
Where did that my mother kill
The village that my father did build
And there he buried beneath the mill

Many wounds to never heal
Or was it I who had him killed
In this house that he did build
His blood did, oh, my hatred steal

That blood left on the windowsill
Gleaming in the dawn unreal
Revealing crime to light in yield
Long in silence my lips so sealed

And oh! Did I never fail to fool you further?
But stand I not in a lonely cell
Wet and cold in a hopeless jail
But near the bottom do I dwell

Your proof was at the end of a well
Only one could break my spell
For I shall know it well, the wicked bell
Ringing, deep, from a steeple in hell

Why did oh I think to kill
That soulless man within these hills
And his grave with him I fill
For him and dirt, now one and still

And then I stood in my worst foe
Guilty standing in an innocent shadow
Oh they took my mother as he fell
And this is why I stand at hell

And by her fragile neck in twilight swinging
And my long and silent voice now singing
What have I done? What is this that I have done?
The irony I am screaming
Ill gain their foolish pity and the shall not see that they should shun
This wicked father’s wicked son
Her gown so white
And I my father’s wicked son.

ah my one of my murder poems...the plot may be a bit hard to see...just because I'm not the greatest storyteller...but the father isn't a good man...so the son kills him..and hides the fact he does...evidence in the bottom of a well and all that...but the people of the village assume it was his mother..hence "the innocent" and she is hung for a crime she didn't commit...and soon he realizes as he stands in her shadow that he could've changed this but he watches his beloved mother hang ...and he realizes he is as wicked as his father...this has lots of symbolism and duality as I'm so fond of ...the white gown of his mother innocence...and red blood and you know all that..the mothers verse i change the rhythm completely on purpose .it's quick and manic.

Note ** all my poems are copyrighted and have codes to prove ownership ... While I doubt anyone here does this ..still have to say Don't steal other people's work wether a poem is good enough or not .... It's personal and directly speaks from the soul of the writer and to take their work and say it's yours ..it's wrong and unnatural ..your stealing a peice of them ...it's nothing to do with money or rights...it's so much more than that...its happened to me .. It can happen to anyone .. It hurts and I always speak out against it even if to most it seems pretentious...
