Merely an Observance

Have you ever noticed the speed of life?
How everyone is in a hurry to get somewhere fast?
And for what, to hurry and then wait?
I see people everyday who are this observance.
The people who speed up and cut you off just to feel power,
Parents at the park condeming their children for being care– free.

As we age, we feel the need to conform and fit society’s corrupt image.
To dress a certain way, act a certain way, not to waste even a second.
I am considered lazy and an underacheiver  simply because I slow down to enjoy the small things.
The things like staying home with my family to see my son grow, change and just be happy because he has his mom and dad.
My house is not spotless for the same reason.
I am the person that you are cutting off, riding on a back road to enjoy nature.
I am the person sitting alone at a table to enjoy the silence and the beauty of watching children, still so innocent and unchanged by the world.
Children are the vision that everyone speaks and lectures about,
care - free, happy, friendly.
They do not discriminate  based on color or gender
They do not have anywhere to be or anything to worry about,
not until we try to make them hurry and conform to our vision.
Then they turn into adults and do the same.
The cycle never ends.
But this is merely an observance from just another person out of millions
