What The Rain Knows

Rain pounds heavy on the barn roof as we lay in each others arms
seeking refuge from the storm.
I still remember the scent of your skin and the taste of your kiss
Most of all, the way it felt to hold you and to be held.
That cool, dark night remains more like a dream than memory.
The days did pass since then
and i often ask myself, “Where did the time go? ”
And wonder in my mind if you do the same.
And knowing deep down that no one will ever know
what the rain knows.
