Adrenaline

To Taking Action

No more hiding
No more sitting on the sidelines.
Time to take this concussion to the next level.
Let this appendix rupture with every last breath in me.
Time to take that charge and run through those linemen.
Break the redrover chain I never made it through in grade school.
Times up
Whistle blows and I’m in.
In deeper in this adrenaline shot I stuck in my arm.
Rage slurs my judgements and closes my mind up
Like a ziplock bag keeping in the rage and steam
Until one quick puncture blows the whole ordeal.
This isn’t a game anymore;
It’s real life.
The chess pieces are not in play here;
It’s soul for soul.
but it’s too far gone.
You’re either halfway in and almost out or you were never in it at all.
