A challenge from Melancholy Daydreams to write about the object of my affection being a well read and worn book...

Winter is past approaching
The crunch of dead leaves
And frosted grass underfoot
I breathe in the icy air ... The icy air
Exhaling life itself
As my mind and flesh are sleeping

Surveying a landscape
Riddled with layers barren
Retracing yesterdays steps
And the babbling that they brook ... The babbling that they brook
I recall the GOD of the summer
As my mind and flesh are sleeping

With numb fingers barely grasping
I gather the pages of that life
Strewn about my frigid kingdom
Out of order yet easily revealed ... So easily revealed
Binding them all together
As my mind and flesh are sleeping

Book in hand
Slight grin with blue eyes kindled
I return within my castles walls
Which long for heat ... They long for heat
And a heart in tune with passions beat
As my mind and flesh are sleeping

Reclining now upon the rug
Where my greatest songs were sung
I take my life in my own hands
Shred its binding page by page ... Page by page
Burning them all for warmth
As my mind and flesh are sleeping

Joined now by a new lovers touch
In passions bold embrace
She smokes the lessons of my past
Shes craving my lifes story ... Craving my lifes story
Desireously she takes me in
As my mind and flesh are sleeping

As my mind and flesh are sleeping ... As my mind and flesh are sleeping

awe...
breathless or out of breath
as an orgasm constricts the muscles then releases
my body just spent
yet for more i yearn
the true, the realthe lasting
a life time
with only one muscle in action and no tendon to hold it in place, as it should have it's place
or palace
with see through walls
with out bars and purewill you cup your hand and take a drink

tonight...
I am without strength...
starving for warmth...
as she holds me...
for a moment I think I can feel her...
as her arms wrap around me...
i hear a voice...
soothing...
nurturing...
what little life is left in my broken bones...
my body...
which once played fine music...
now uncomfortably numb...
as misplaced years well up...
seeking to escape the oceans of my soul...
yet there they sit...
trapped...
frozen...
in orbs iced blue...
i cannot feel...
there is no loss...
there is no gain...
adrift...
I am adrift...
peering into the space of nothingness...
I briefly feel her as she takes my hand in hers...
gently...
so gently...
she brings my hand to her face...
and i half realize she is there...
like some hazy dream or spirit walk...
i am out of body...
yet locked in place...
as she seeks to anchor my gaze...
upon the beauty of her shore...
i begin to feel warmth...
as she nibbles the flesh on my fingertips...
her moist mouth...
breathing life into lifelessness...
I feel my heart beating there in my fingers...
throbbing..
her soft tongue wrapped around them...
drawing them back from the abyss...
is this a dream...
i must be dreaming...
so beautiful and enviting...
the shoreline holding my gaze firmly...
what beautiful eyes...
this tender heaven I see before me...
heaven...
is this heaven...
my hand now resting on her cheek...
as she moves my hand gently across her face...
i am in awe...
i have never felt this before...
my hands begin to longingly explore this paradise found...
my own personal eden...
I can't help but read this body before me...
like a braille bible...
each caress...
exploring my new kingdom...
my fingers slowly tenderly tracing the landscape of her life..
her living words felt...
she tells me that I am like a wild animal that has been caged to long...
she breathes me in...
her sighs a symphony...
as her body begins to sing...
a song greater than any...
i have ever known...and then I wake...
my body alive...
hot...
flushed...
yearning...
longing...
aching...
for my Eve...

gliding - caressing the trees warmth from the sunah, your words are
a fresh mountain spring,
the cool after the storm
the fluff of the bed
if only to be the one
feeling the warmth
wrapped tightly in it layers
as one kept in the fence
protected from the wolf

Beautiful :)Here's to passion...may it last our lifetimes through... feeding me... feeding you...May it pierce the darkest nights... and enliven every day... nourishing our bodies...emboldening souls to play...And in the end when at last we are spent... and our bodies are no more... we will know we lived them well... and watch our spirits soar...
