Irreversible Lies

As the night stood still,
and our bodies entwined,
his eyes looked not through me,
but at me, in me,
around me, over me.

To believe was to create,
mind, body,
lips, a smile.
Explore his features, breathing and takeing
him in entirely.

Those eyes in the dark,
bright and eager,
a boy’s eyes not a mans.
Pleasing to look at
and amusing to disturb pleasantly,
he grew onto me.
To stay would be perfect,
to run my fingers thoughtful
through the curls that
intrigued me.

Things are never what they seem.
Nights that pretend to have no end
blend into days of forgotten nights,
and apologies to ignore.
Him, him to ignore.

For his eyes played tricks
on me in the darkness.
His body fooled me and those
words cut like knives,
lies upon my lips and my
chest and my thighs.
All irreversible lies.
All irreversible lies.
