Nightfall

Near a window you could see
the blossoming countryside roll by.
What does it matter?
A dark flame had entered into my
soul and devoured it.
I was staring into the void
A hand like a wolf’s paw came down
and beat him till he bled
Oh, his blood-stained face,
his shattered skull!
“Run,”
he said, “like if the Devil were after you.”
I ran. I ran and I ran until i bent over
like a rusty spoon.
Joining me with their sick minds,
and crippled bodies,
we were like beasts to the slaughter.
From the depths of a mirror did I see
a lonely corpse gazing back at me.
I was no longer human.
I am but a hollowed out tree
all dried up and frail.
Until the end.
