Freed

Down by those salley gardens
My love where did we meet?
I guess it was because of Yeats
When home I walked in bare feet
Standing on my tipped toes
To kiss that very cheek
Of a face I love so dearly
I wish love was that neat
I told you take this slow
For your heart could barely beat

And now you say you know
What a mistake you made
Leaving me for dead
But iv grown more than you know
And more selfish with the day
As much as it might kill you
You have to let me go
And day by day you say you want me
And I wish it could be so
But this love will break us
If we don’t take heed

I was the caged bird
Only now I am freed
