Things that we carry
In our heads
Are sometimes too heavy to bear,
Too heavy to live with,
Too raw to share,
That shock us into silence,
Into despair,
Too numb for tears,
Too dumb for screams,
Too awful to declare.
Oh that we were not there
And that we did not care,
Except that you, my Dear,
Be always near.
