Back Again

Two Rocking-chairs kicked
Now and then
By Summer’s pompous wind
Two lemonade glasses
Half full
Melting ice to the moon
And back again.

A Hoot Owl —- hoots,
A porch swings sways
There are heavenly Sighs in Angle’s Glen
While Wind ghosts run
Beneath the trees
Rustling leaves to the moon
And back again.

Lazy days
And sweet dream nights
Find a summer lake to wander in
Hoping for love
Wet or dry
Skipping stones to the moon
And back again.

The old man in the moon has a certain smile
Just a wink this side of a sheepish grin
He knows his light is the light of love
That is sent to the earth and back again.
