“Grandpa's Farm”

Higahley-Pigahly,

Higahley-Pigahly,
Round and wiggly,
Loves to roll in the mud.
And slow-silly cow
Is not like that sow,
She is happy just chewing her Cud.

Ms. Chickee and her troop
Lay their eggs in their coup
As the farmer opens his eyes,
Then the rooster crows,
'cause the Rooster knows
That the sun is starting to rise.

Silly-Goat Billy
Likes anything hilly
So up on the dog-house he jumps,
Up high where it’s tall;
{He thinks he won’t fall
from the dog-house, hen-house, or stumps}.

Nanny the Nag
Eats from a bag
And she pulls a Surrey on Sunday.
She helps when she can,
At least that’s the plan,
But she won’t leave the barn on Monday.

Then there is Gus,
The Old lazy cuss,
A Hound-dog without a care;
Snoozin’, or  sleepin’,
His eyes sometimes Peepin’
When the smell of food’s in the air!

This is Grandpa’s farm,
No need for alarm,
Grandma is runnin’ the place.
They don’t make any dough
But they love it, {Ya Know?},
It’s all about wide open space.”
