The Game

On the playing field, and it’s unlevel
Fingers intertwined with the devil’s
Your eyes showed depth
Just another illusion
Another chance for adding confusion
You tore me down for your own satisfaction
My anger grew and you got your reaction
Twisting the truth, excuses for leaving
How much life will you live by deceiving?
It wasn’t my err for this unjustified ending
You just never cared, so why keep pretending?
The next time around will be more of the same
No love in your heart, just keep playing the game
When you grow old and no  games can be played
You may reflect on your life and wish you had stayed
Maybe inside me there’s too much emotion
Three things you’ll never have just add good will and devotion
