The Garden of Yearning

In balladry you spoke to me,
Within the moonlit night of spring,
Whispers ever so fervently,
Compelling my heart to sing.

Mist in the garden softly drips,
Words of passion from my lips,
A promise wrapped in silken garb,
A rose’ soft petal and knightly barb.

Breathless Innocence youthful glow,
Hold colors of crimson and white,
A rapture of heated undertow,
Our souls; like a flame in the night.

My heart beats fast within my chest,
In a rhythm, reaching the crest,
A romance encompassing all,
A pair of lovers in the nightfall
