Yes, a Dream

A dream– yes a dream
With the sandpiper I flew
Across the way
To the edge of the world down
The edge of reality
Where colors faded
To hues of gray
With barren buzz and meaningful hum

I meandered on to the stone wet wall
Looked down to only forget what I saw
And to think only moments before
I landed weightlessly to the ground
The trees talked in words lost in time
Nothing plantlike had lived yet still survived
They rambled on disturbing rhythm
Then flash to black broken by light

We’re at the path leading to the woods core
I don’t belong here
I followed to far
The gray spectrum children dancing
On both  sides with glee
While the sandpiper rang true
To sing by me

A place I’d like to stay
The forest  dangerous
Yet the fields okay
But its time to rest
The pale girl says
Go back
Then shut the lens
Woken to  bright blinding natural light
No birds nor playmates nor freeing flight
A dream a dream just a dream.
