A Dozen Roses

Awaken, precious flower,
For your buds are laved in dew
Like beads upon your thorns,
in the morning day of new

For in your sweet essence,
come your petals of ruby red
Under skies light thy beauty
From the rain, you are now fed

A portrait bloomed in nature,
with  “I love you” simply said
A dozen gifted roses,
in a vase, beside my bed
