Silence in Mind

Tick-tock, says grandfather clock.
Psssstt...., the whispers won’t stop.
Ding-dong, afraid we’ve waited too long.
Shredding the canvas that weathers this life.
    Drip-drop,
Plip-plop, says the river of life seeping through the slashes.
Pitter-patter, hearing blood splatter.

The noises mumble and jumble,
and clash and clatter
in our heads until we nearly break and it
won’t ever STOP

    —ENOUGH—
We are so SICK of the mind games
you play, so we block out your
racket as we fade away.
Depart though we may, we will
meet again someday.  For now
please do hush, we wish for
a peaceful ending because
cluttered minds do not carry
well on the Otherside, and
Silence is Golden.
