Shout Out to the Mainstream Hip-Hop Scene

Just one observer's perspective...

I’m sick of  all these egocentric rhymes,
all I hear about so far is; 'pussy taking’, 'ass shaking’ and 'Nigga’ look at my cars.
What happened to the truths and the messages to boot?
or is materialistic wealth all we want to p[ass on to our youth?

Yeah money is important and I’m sure platinum CD sales are great,
but is it something that’s so essential regardless of the stakes?
It used to be 'floetry’, an art form at that,
but now if it ain’t about sex, it’s a rhythmic attack.
Remember that word I believe it was integrity,
it was something that was intertwined with everyday human decency.

Now I’m not saying it’s all bad,
Damn some of those beats are tight,
but just because of that, it doesn’t give you the right,
to discriminate and degrade your fellow man all night.

Yeah now you’re living large and what you’ve done is quite a feat.
I’m just saying maybe for your next track,
before you record,  just take a seat,
And bring us a message that’s infused with real value,
But hey, this is just one observers’ point of view.

You don’t have to listen, but maybe someone just might,
And think a little more before they let their lyrics take flight,
Across the radio waves and into the night,
Their thoughts and rhymes brought into the light.

And maybe, just maybe a message will be spread,
that’s more about hope than just making that bread.
So hit it with those beats and turn on all those mics,
and lets give the world something to resonate with inside.
A message to the kids that they can take with them through life.

If we are gonna do something, please lets just do it right,
So the stage is yours and the lights are set.
Now.... send that rhyme into the night.
