Sonnet V: Hidden Inspiration

Inspiration can be drawn from anything—even the lack of inspiration.

[Couplet One]
"Windows to my soul" = my eyes
"split mast" = a joint
"Window to the past" = a book

[Tercet One]
This isn't text from a actual book, but some of the thoughts I was having once.
This stanza is the heart of the whole poem, these thoughts are what inspired it.

[Couplet Two]
"virgin light" = new idea, or concept

[Tercet Two]
Lacerate: to tear something

[Quatrain]
"brightest star" = the sun

(2013)

Created my own formula for the classic 14-line Sonnet:
[Iambic Pentameter]
AA BCB DD EFE GGGG
