Sonnet XIV: Exhausted

I’ve been moving through this pool of concrete,
Dragging these cinderblocks—you’d call them feet.

I’m tired, tired of everything;
Tired of the same ol’ thing, tired of
Animals, and tired of human beings.

It seems like I’m never captivated,
Unless my mind has been stimulated.

It seems like I need a shot just to think–
Alcoholic ways catching up to me.
Drinking like I have nothing else to drink.

I wonder why the Sun is at the door.
Torso just got spontaneously sore.
Eyelids heavy, can’t hold them any more.
Who needs a bed when you have a cold floor.
