Death Perception -Part One-

Let my loved one live his wounds,
And let me show him love is true.
Let us be together,
Forever.

The days grow cold without him near,
And then my soul runs to the fear.
How much longer must we fight?
Is there a way to stop this tonight?

I see him hurt.
I see him hit the dirt.
I yell out...
“NO!!!”

The sword crosses his chest.
I know he did his very best.
My heart is jumping.
My head is thumping.

I see his arm reach out.
He’s not dead, but just about.
My breath srarts to leave me.
I scream and know he sees me.

He grabs his sword and swings.
On his mind, there is only one thing.
I know what he thinks.
And I know he is over the brink.

The swords clash and glide.
I see his horse, his trusty ride.
Both men climb on their steeds.
Neither are done their nasty needs.

I hear an arrow pierce the air.
It glides right by, but sticks in my hair.
I let out a scream.
I know this isn’t a dream.
