Not the Same

I never thought it would come to this.
The high used to last all night.
The shine is now dull.  “Let Her Go” haunts you and
This may be why.

Like a flip of a switch,
What’s up is down, right is wrong.
I can’t even tell which is which
Or how to turn this around.

I wouldn’t be able to sleep with you
If I wanted to date you.
Knowing that once I didn’t want to,
Our bedroom liaisons would be through.

I tried staying away.
Trying to forget your passionate kiss.
The sweet taste, strong embrace,
Along with too much to list.

A pull like yours must be special.
It should last forever.
But just like that, it’s not the same and
We won’t be together.
