Every morning that I wake up,
I awake to another side of my story.
As if at night, God tosses a coin
to decide what I’ll be and what I’ll see
in my waking reality.
Today it lands on heads, tomorrow it may be tails.
And if, on one of the days my judgement fails,
I’ll have the chance to correct my misperceptions
by being guided from another direction.
And every evening I say goodbye
as another part decides to die,
to wake up again to be another me
and experience a changed perspective of life’s reality.
I tell you, this is not a lie.
And I dare you to even try
to live by my side for a few days,
and find a consistency in my ways.
Or at least, do your best to disagree
with every different part of me.

I guess I didn't guess that one right. Thanks for clarifying it for me.

I can see how you came to your interpretation. But that is another aspect that I love about poetry; the words can mean different things to different people. You are welcome!

The poem says to me that when life comes at you, you take it whatever it is at the time. We can't do anything about it. IDid I read it right?

It is describing a period of reintegration of different aspects of oneself during a period of healing. The aspect of this that the poem describes is when the inability to predict oneself becomes a bit of a struggle, but it seems that the best way to move forward past this is through allowing oneself to experience and acknowledge all the different faces in order to gain self-acceptance and become a more integrated human being.

Nice poem Esther. We can be very complex individuals. It's just good to know the real you.
